MENTAL HEALTH AWARENESS WEEK
~ BLUE ROUND ~
Mental Health Awareness at YDJFC
ROUND 5 | Friday 22nd may - Sunday 24th may 2026
(With SPECIAL EVENT - WEDNESDAY 20TH MAY)
At Yanchep Districts Junior Football Club, we care about more than just footy. We know that mental health is just as important as physical fitness. That’s why we’re committed to raising awareness, supporting our players and families, and creating a club environment where everyone feels safe, respected, and heard.
Mental Health – Why It Matters
Football is more than a game – it’s a community. But off the field, life can be tough. Stress, anxiety and other mental health challenges affect people of all ages, including teammates, coaches, volunteers, parents and friends.
By talking openly about mental health, we help reduce stigma and make it easier for people to seek support when they need it.
Your mental health deserves the same care and attention as your physical health – both on and off the field.
In the past 12 months, one in five Australians has experienced a mental health condition, with that number rising to two in five among young people aged 16 to 24.
This page brings together important mental health contacts, support services and crisis lines to help you or someone you know access support when it’s needed most.
Our Club Goals
Educate: Share tips and resources about mental wellbeing.
Support: Make it easy for players, coaches, and families to find help.
Include Everyone: Build a safe, welcoming club culture on and off the field.
Start Conversations: Encourage open, honest chats about mental health.
How You Can Help
Look Out for Each Other: Check in on your teammates, coaches, volunteers and friends.
Share Your Story: Let others know they’re not alone.
Get Involved: Join awareness campaigns, club events, or volunteer initiatives.
